Musée Carnavalet boasts the greatest collection of paintings and objects pertaining to the French Revolution (1789-1799) in France. Our visit will begin with the reign of Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette and take us though all the celebrated events of the Revolution – from the taking of the Bastille to the abolition of the Monarchy – to the end of the Directoire, just before the advent to power of young general Bonaparte.
