Couturier Valentino & Giancarlo Giammetti

with Geoff Lowsley

Paris Art Studies is delighted to welcome Geoff Lowsley manager of the celebrated Valentino collection of modern and contemporary art.

Geoff will be presenting to us a brief history of Valentino’s rise to pre-eminence as one of the world’s best-known haute-couture fashion designers, with an emphasis on his development as a major art collector.

We will be privileged with some rare looks at the art collection and homes of Valentino and his partner Giancarlo Giammetti, who own important paintings by Mark Rothko, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly and Jean-Michel Basquiat among other post-war masters, as well as work by rising stars of the contemporary art scene, such as Kehinde Wiley and Amoako Boafo.

Bio: Geoff Lowsley is a collections management specialist. He has worked with historic houses, art galleries and museums, artists' estates and film directors' archives ensuring that fine art, antiques and important cultural collections are preserved and cared for properly.

For the last nine years Geoff has been the private Collection Manager for the fashion designer Valentino and his business partner Giancarlo Giammetti; looking after their world-class collection of modern and contemporary paintings and fine antiques in ten homes and two yachts around the world.
