A virtual tour of Paris’ most famous 20th century artistic district

The great Bohemian and artistic district of Paris from 1905 to 1940, Montparnasse is also one of the best districts for early 20th century modern bourgeois residential architecture. Our walk will take us past artist's studios (Man Ray, Picasso, Yves Klein) and villas of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, some of the finest 1930's apartment buildings in Paris and also the celebrated 18th century town gates by the Neo-classical architect Nicolas Ledoux.

We will also stop at two of the more recent cultural venues of the district, the Giacometti Foundation and the new museum of the Liberation of Paris at Denfert-Rochereau.
