The National Opera of Greece is aiming to make opera accessible to a wider audience by taking its productions on the road in a new and original manner all over Greece. “À Paris tous les deux” is a mixed-media performance, combining the screening of a silent film with live music, set to a medley of excerpts from operas by Verdi, Puccini, Massenet, Charpentier, and Offenbach. The opera singers perform, accompanied by piano, arias and duets set in Paris, while the stories of Mimi, Manon, Violetta and Louise are played out on the screen by professional actors.

Thus, the magic of opera is not confined to a stage with minimalist sets and costumes, but rather, brought to life in a striking way on the big screen with professional actors, Greek subtitles and filming on location in Paris.
