6EXI CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS IN PAXOS

6exi Contemporary Ceramics is a gallery founded in 2017 in Thessaloniki by ceramicists Giorgos Vavatsis (recipient of first prize at the 2024 Biennale of Contemporary Ceramics in Santorini) and Ifigenia Tsirou, as a window for Greek and international art ceramics in Northern Greece. Vavatsis and Tsirou are also the founders and directors on the Hakah Ceramics Design Production company in Thessaloniki.
Following on a number of major exhibitions in Paxos of Greek, Spanish and Irish contemporary ceramics in the last few years, 6exi will be curating this summer a special exhibition in the Old School in Loggos bringing together an eclectic group of 14 Greek and international ceramicists whom they have presented in Thessaloniki since 2017:
Sandra Ban (Croatia), Ilias Christopoulos (Greece), Mirka Drapaniotou (Greece), Kostas Karakitsos (Greece), Haroula Koropouli (Greece), Vassiliki Kyriaki (Greece), Nigel Lambert (England), Delia Maxim (Romania), Maru Meleniou (Greece), Ivana Petan (Slovenia), Ifigenia Tsirou (Greece), Giorgos Vavatsis (Greece), Saravut Vongnate (Thailand), Velimir Vukicevic (Serbia).
In this new collaboration between the Friends of Paxos and a distinguished contemporary art institution in Thessaloniki we hope to further promote the profile of Paxos as an important venue for contemporary creation in the Ionian. This summer’s ceramic exhibition will also precede the inauguration next year in Fontana of the new Paxos Ceramic Centre sponsored by the Friends of Paxos as an important venue for ceramic workshops for Paxiots and visitors to the island and seminars bringing together Greek and international ceramic artists.

Tickets also available (by cash or credit card) at Chris Boïcos Fine Arts Gallery in Gaios (opposite Kalimera bar).
Open daily from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm & from 7:00 to 10:30 pm
