Musée Carnavalet 4 - Modern Paris: From the Belle Époque to Charles de Gaulle

with Chris Boïcos

The 1889 and 1900 World Fairs consecrated Paris as the Queen of world cities at the turn of the 20th century. Our tour will take us from the time of Marcel Proust (whose bedroom furniture is here) to the Existentialist Paris of Juliette Greco and beyond. The splendid ballroom designed by Jose Maria Sert for the Hôtel Wendel and the stupendous Art Nouveau Fouquet jewelry boutique, designed by Alfons Mucha, are part of the tour.
